In order to cooperate with the activities related to the China corner of the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30), on October 24, China Classification Society Quality Certification Co., Ltd. (CCSC), BYD Co., Ltd. and State Grid Chengdu Power Supply Company jointly signed the "Cooperation Agreement on Jointly Carrying out the Certification and Application of Fine Electric Carbon Accounting" in Shenzhen.
This cooperation mainly focuses on three objectives: innovating the application mode of time-sharing and zoning electric carbon factor in product carbon footprint accounting, and forming a solution to reduce carbon and increase efficiency; Optimize BYDs green production behavior to help reduce the carbon emissions of society, enterprises and products in the whole life cycle; Enhance CCSCs voice in the field of international carbon certification, and strengthen the cooperation ties with the State Grid and international institutions.
The signing ceremony was led by Sichuan Branch, and the tripartite cooperation was reached through communication and coordination with State Grid Chengdu Power Supply Company in the early stage. Zhao Yadong, deputy general manager (presiding over the work) of Shenzhen Branch, attended the signing ceremony on behalf of the company. After the signing, the representatives of the three parties had a discussion and exchange on how to carry out the fine accounting of electric carbon.
Zhao Yadong said that as a national product carbon footprint identification certification pilot institution, CCSC is willing to give full play to its professional capabilities in carbon accounting, carbon footprint and low-carbon certification, fully support the State Grids electric carbon fine accounting work, and provide technical support for BYD Group and its supply chain partners in the process of energy structure optimization, fine management and green and low-carbon transformation.
The COP30 China Corner is the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. It will be held in Belém, Brazil in November 2025.
