On May 24, 2017, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) officially released the new international railway industry standard ISO/TS22163:2017. At the same time, the European railway industry alliance UNIFE issued a new IRIS certification specification. The two documents will come into effect at the same time on June 1, 2017.
The ISO/TS22163 and IRIS certification specifications replace the original IRIS standards and are a major milestone in the IRIS certification of quality management systems in the railway industry. The ISO22163 covers all ISO9001:2015 requirements, and adds railway industry specific requirements on this basis.
What are the new ISO/TS22163 changes?
? 1. The new standard covers all ISO9001: the requirements of 2015;
? 2. Using the new IRIS assessment form, there are about 870 requirements and are integrated into 300 questions;
? 3. New mandatory and recommended KPIs are added to the original mandatory and recommended KPIs of IRIS;
? 4. Requires the introduction of turtle diagrams for mandatory processes and the application of PEAR for process effectiveness review;
? 5. Use the maturity of the enterprise management system to grade the enterprise (copper-silver-gold).
What should certified enterprises pay attention to about version transfer?
Please note that there are IRIS certified enterprises:
? December 1.2017 will no longer accept the IRISRev02 version of the certification audit;
? From June 2.2018, it will no longer accept the IRISRev02 version of the supervision and recertification audit;
? 3. The original IRISRev02 certificate is valid until September 14, 2018.
This means that the transition time of the new standard is only one year, which is quite urgent for more than 600 certified enterprises in China!
What is IRIS?
IRIS is an acronym for InternationalRailwayIndustryStandard. The IRIS standard was first released in 2006 by the European Railway Industry Alliance UNIFE. The standard was strongly supported by the four major railway manufacturers Siemens, Alstom, Bombardier and Ansaldo. At the same time, it stated that if the supplier has obtained IRIS certification, it promised not to conduct any review of the enterprise management system. In 2012, the four major manufacturers, together with some major railway component suppliers-Konor, Favelai and others, issued another statement requiring their suppliers to implement the IRIS system.
Since IRIS entered China in 2007, more than 600 enterprises have passed the certification; with the release of ISO/TS22163, it will be more widely used.
