In 1916, Chen Duxiu came to Peking University to teach, and at the same time moved the "New Youth" magazine from Shanghai to Beijing. At that time, the editorial department of the "New Youth" magazine was located in his own residence. Many new scholars, including Chen Duxiu, Hu Shi, Li Dazhao and Lu Xun, became the main contributors of The New Youth. Peking University and "New Youth" formed a combination of "one school, one journal" and became an important position of the New Culture Movement. Therefore, this old residence of Chen Duxiu is not only the former residence of celebrities, but also the editorial department of the "New Youth" magazine, and an important historical relic that witnessed the New Culture Movement.
